PT-141

PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide derived from α-MSH that selectively agonizes melanocortin receptors MC3R and MC4R in the central nervous system. It enhances sexual desire and arousal by activating neurogenic pathways rather than vasodilation. PT-141 is FDA-approved as Vyleesi for hypoactive sexual desire disorder and has been shown to improve sexual function in men and women.
