SS-31

SS-31 (elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide (D-Arg-dimethylTyr-Lys-Phe-NH2) that selectively binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane. It stabilizes mitochondrial structure, enhances electron transport chain efficiency, reduces reactive oxygen species, and improves ATP production. SS-31 is being investigated for cardioprotective, neuroprotective and metabolic benefits.
